Tampa’s Bumper Shot Photographer made its debut this week on the Morning Show at Plant High School. If seniors are looking for a completely different look and feel for their milestone images, they now know where to find it… Newsome’s Studio of Photography.

Many will recognize the look as a knock-off of Saturday Night Live’s, Mary Ellen Mathews’ Bumper Shots that she creates weekly for SNL’s guest hosts and musical guests. We may not have a world-class prop and wardrobe dept, but we sure have world-class performers (high school seniors) that make no qualms about mugging it up for the camera once we get rolling.

If you’re hearing the term “Bumper Shot” for the first time, and wondering where it comes from… it’s a television industry term used to describe the still photo that is sandwiched between a commercial break and the return of the show. On SNL, it’s iconic, yet only on the screen for three seconds. Google “SNL Bumper Shot” and click the images tab to view Mary Ellen’s talents, or to view mine, just go to our senior page on the website.

Enjoy!
