Eyeglass Change in US Passport Photos
As of November 1st, the US Passport Office will no longer accept any US Passport Photos if you are wearing eyeglasses. I KNOW! CRAZY, RIGHT??? Confirmation of this change can be found here.
According to the new specifications, there is only one exception…
- If you cannot remove your glasses for medical reasons, please include a signed note from your doctor with your application.
Now, I know this is going to cause some anxiety among many of you who wear glasses all the time. The only advice I can give you is to repeat the following three times… “it’s only a passport photo… it’s only a passport photo… it’s only a passport photo.” The only ones that will ever see it are YOU and a few disinterested bureaucratic custom agents who probably don’t even speak your language. So, suck it up, buttercup. The US passport office is not to be messed with!
To guarantee you get the very best US Passport Photo “allowable,” contact the passport photo experts at Newsome’s Studio of Photography, located in North Tampa (Carrollwood) at 10012 N.
