Canadian Passport Photo
The truth is, there are very few places a Canadian citizen can go within the Tampa/St Pete area to obtain a Canadian passport photo that will satisfy the Canadian consulate.
A Canadian passport photo is measured in millimeters, not inches. Measuring in at 50x70mm (approx 2×2¾ inches), it is larger than the standard US Passport photo (2×2 inches), thus, cannot be cut from the passport photos supplied by most drug stores, AAA, or the US Post Office. Most will tell you they’re unable to provide a Canadian Passport photo right off the bat, but when a new hire is behind the counter, you cannot count on them knowing the difference between a Canadian or a US passport. In fact, in true American fashion, they’re going to assume that every country’s passport photo is the same size as the US!
To avoid all delays in obtaining your Canadian passport, go to a professional photographer who specializes in creating passport photos for citizens of foreign countries where everything is measured in millimeters, not inches.
Did you know that the United States of America, Burma, and Liberia, are the only countries left on the planet that still operate officially on the Imperial measurement system? (Miles, yards, feet, inches, etc)
The rest of the planet is now on the Metric System (kilometers, meters, centimeters, millimeters, etc). All foreign passport photos from those countries are precisely measured in millimeters. Canada has the largest passport on the planet. And the head size must fall within a maximum/minimum parameter, otherwise, it may be rejected by the Canadian Consulate.
Don’t risk having your Canadian passport delayed or rejected because the photo doesn’t measure up. Contact Newsome’s Studio of Photography, located in North Tampa (Carrollwood) at 10012 N.
